The wood oven has always been a focal point of the open kitchen at Michael’s Genuine, and it’s no surprise pizza has found a special place in our hearth getting cozy with whole fish and fresh vegetables. Michael’s love for a genuine pie spawned a bunch of warm and welcoming joints where it’s the star, too — Harry’s Pizzeria. Now, the home cook can make and eat better pizza at home, getting comfortable creating balanced, delicious meals centered around everyone’s favorite food.
Genuine Pizza is my approach as an American chef who puts quality and simplicity first. Pizza has always been an important part of all my restaurants. King Arthur Flour Baking School 🎟 Join Michael for a class based on his new book Genuine Pizza. Friday demonstration is 5 to pm ($45) and Saturday’s hands-on class from 9am to 1pm is $195.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5 & 6 at the New York Pizza Festival – The 2nd Annual New York Pizza Festival hosted by theBelmont Business Improvement District will be a national, star-studded, 2-day event showcasing the talents of the most renowned US Pizza Makers, Chefs, culinary personalities, as well as top pizza makers from Italy. With 30,000 people expected in attendance over the two days, this is the largest pizza festival in New York, including 25 US pizza makers and 5 from Italy, with wine, beer, and music! The festival will benefit a local NY non-for-profit, Slice Out Hunger!

We had the BEST time making this book with the BEST people. From our publishing squad at Abrams Books to our crack photoshoot and culinary team on the ground with writing whiz Olga Massov keeping us in line and on-point, meet the team and forgive their lack pizza self control.
