The Genuine Hospitality Group of chef/owner Michael Schwartz operates restaurants including Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink Miami (Est. 2006), Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink Grand Cayman (Est. 2010), Harry’s Pizzeria (Est. 2011), 150 Central Park by Chef Michael Schwartz aboard Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas (Est. 2011 & Est. 2013) and The Cypress Room (Est. 2013,) as well as food and beverage at South Beach’s iconic Raleigh Hotel.

We are excited to announce our fourth restaurant, The Cypress Room, at 3620 Northeast Second Avenue in Miami’s Design District. As the neighborhood moves full steam ahead with high end retail development plans, so are we, a few blocks southeast with an elegant American dining room to complement the fresh, simple and pure approach at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink to the north and casual joint Harry’s Pizzeria to the west. The Cypress Room’s intimate space is welcoming, with a polished finish in sophisticated food, service and decor.

Since Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink first opened in Miami’s Design District in 2007, with an outpost in Grand Cayman in 2010, diners have come to embrace and crave its refreshing combination of laid-back atmosphere and seriously good food, a neighborhood bistro that is the ultimate showcase for the type of cuisine that Michael Schwartz does best – homemade and straightforward, with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients.

From seasonally-inspired pizzas from the wood-burning oven to a welcoming counter where local and craft beers freely flow, our new Miami Design District joint radiates the relaxed, unpretentious vibe on which Michael’s Genuine has built
its reputation.

Michael is working with Royal Caribbean to incorporate produce from small, family-owned Florida farms onto the largest cruise ship in the world, Oasis of the Seas. Passengers dining at upscale venue 150 Central Park can now get a taste of the chef’s fresh, simple, and pure cuisine in two locally-sourced menus per sailing, each changing with the seasons.

One of South Beach’s most iconic hotels just got even more genuine. Occupying the Raleigh Hotel’s upper lobby and its iconic baroque pool deck, Restaurant Michael Schwartz, open as of Monday, April 22, offers diners a menu inspired by the rich history and singular charm of Miami Beach’s most iconic hotel property. Complete with the James Beard Award-winning chef’s hallmark seasonal ingredient-inspired Snacks, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large and Sides, as well as renowned pastry chef Hedy Goldsmith’s desserts, the restaurant will serve breakfast and lunch, a market fresh raw bar, and dinner daily, as well as poolside and bar service, boxed beach lunches, and a selection of items for in-room dining.
